Healing through Hypnotherapy

Hey y'all! We believe that to be the best partner, you have to be the best version of yourself. In the episode, we talk to Crystal Estrella Curiel, of Estrella Healing Arts, about healing your trauma through hypnotherapy.

[00:00:00] After over 25 years of marriage, we've learned that successful couples have great friendships,

[00:00:09] put each other first and focus on light just as much as love.

[00:00:13] We believe marriage should be fun and easy.

[00:00:16] Our goal is to share our journey with the hopes of helping others build strong happy relationships.

[00:00:22] Join us as we continue to create our lives, Beyond I Do.

[00:00:31] We are not marriage counselors nor are we mental health professionals.

[00:00:35] We're just simply sharing y'all how we navigated through our marriage.

[00:00:38] Now, on with the show.

[00:00:47] Hey y'all, I'm Margaret and I'm Byron.

[00:00:50] And we'd like to welcome you back to The Beyond I Do podcast.

[00:00:54] On this episode, we have a guest, Miss Crystal Australia Curiel.

[00:00:59] And she is going to tell us about herself.

[00:01:03] Thank you for joining us.

[00:01:05] Hello, thank you for having me.

[00:01:07] And if you let us know a little bit about what you do and who you are.

[00:01:14] So my name is Crystal.

[00:01:19] I am technically actually called myself an integrative healing arts practitioner.

[00:01:26] So I practice a few different healing modalities to help people change their mindset and like accomplish their goals and live their dream life.

[00:01:39] So I call it Australia Healing Arts because my dream package is to reach the stars, right?

[00:01:45] You don't have to live in this life.

[00:01:47] That's difficult all the time.

[00:01:49] You can live in the stars like the stars.

[00:01:53] So I use my main healing modality as hypnotherapy.

[00:01:58] That's what I've been mainly trained in.

[00:02:01] That's my go-to.

[00:02:04] I also offer life coaching, but mostly every coaching session, everything I do.

[00:02:09] I always love to wrap in hypnosis and hypnotherapy with it because it's such a powerful tool to really get into the subconscious mind and create that positive change.

[00:02:21] So even if I'm doing teaching somebody, you know, EFT emotional freedom technique, I'm going to do a hypnosis with them at the end or a meditation at the end.

[00:02:32] To help integrate that into the subconscious.

[00:02:36] So I like a jack of all trades when it comes to healing.

[00:02:40] Okay, so we used to have a local comedy club and a hypnotist person would come and he would have the shows and then we were in Vegas once and we went to one of the shows and he went on stage.

[00:02:56] And so when we think hypnosis, when the average person thinks hypnosis, that's the type of thing that we think about.

[00:03:05] So it could explain to us like, what is it that because I'm sure you're not going to have you're not going to have him on stage things.

[00:03:14] If you break your typical stop, stop watch.

[00:03:19] You're not going to have the wide bottom of that.

[00:03:22] So what is it that you're going to be hypnotized to do with all the chores?

[00:03:28] Right, right.

[00:03:30] Okay, so what it is is just a deep state of relaxation. That's why hypnosis really is it comes from the word sleep.

[00:03:41] It's not technically not sleep. You're just deeply relaxed and while you're in this deeply relaxed state, you are highly suggestible and your imagination can run wild.

[00:03:54] So I and there is a guide to simply help you while you're in a relaxed state, create new neural pathways, new imaginations, ways of seeing things to help you then have positive change.

[00:04:11] Now when you go to stage hypnotism, you know, that's a whole there, there for entertainment. They're not there to change life, right?

[00:04:19] This is a totally different thing, but he's just putting you in the relaxed state and you are highly suggestible and you want to play along and usually people who get on stage one of the on stage a little bit.

[00:04:33] Right.

[00:04:34] Yeah.

[00:04:36] I've been stage hypnotized twice myself. That's how I fell in love with hypnotism and the whole thing because I just thought it was such an amazing feeling.

[00:04:46] So you talk about the relaxed state of being now and I have a little bit of background information because I watched one of your videos that talked about that relaxed state.

[00:04:59] So because there again, we have this picture in our mind. So if you could what does that relaxed state like look like or in everyday life? Can you give an example for us to?

[00:05:11] Yeah, that's such a common question that I get everybody wants to know like what does it feel like to be hypnotized right?

[00:05:19] So generally I can't tell you exactly what it's going to feel like for you but I can tell you what I experience and what some a lot of my clients say.

[00:05:29] So if you've ever just been like watching a movie and you are like in it, you're crying, you're laughing, you're feeling with the characters.

[00:05:42] You are hypnotized.

[00:05:44] So if you know what your body feels like when you're in that state of mind, you already know what it feels like to be hypnotized.

[00:05:51] Another one that I tell people often is when you're driving and your favorite song comes on and you're going along and it's been an hour and you don't know if you stopped with the last 10 lights.

[00:06:04] All of a sudden you're out your destination, you hypnotized yourself. You were in a hypnotic state.

[00:06:10] So if you know what that feels like and then you can kind of get that feeling or idea of like okay I know what that feels like to be kind of like that space style feeling.

[00:06:21] Right.

[00:06:22] So what I do is the cool thing about what I do is I do it more as like a mental massage.

[00:06:31] So I tell people if you've ever gotten a professional massage and you felt along with the massage therapist as they went along with your body and you just kind of went with it.

[00:06:44] That's kind of like what it is being hypnotized.

[00:06:47] I have you literally imagine relaxing from head to toe. We go through your different body parts.

[00:06:54] It feels amazing as long as you're willing to submit to it and be like yeah, I want to feel good.

[00:07:01] I want this mental massage. You know if you're going into it with the good mindset and you're ready for it, it can feel like it can literally relieve pain.

[00:07:12] Oh wow.

[00:07:13] It can feel so good and it's all within your mind, it's just all within you.

[00:07:19] All I know is like the words to say is it kind of gets you there.

[00:07:24] You know like in the different kind of hypnotic dance to play even before I put you in that relaxed state.

[00:07:31] So you talk about the relaxed state of the mind and getting people to that relaxed state.

[00:07:39] So once a person is in that relaxed state of mind, what is the process from there?

[00:07:45] So then I do a couple of different things. It really depends on what the goal of the session is.

[00:07:50] For our first time or I like to do a deepener, which is just going somewhere pretty because I want you to just experience what it feels like

[00:07:59] to feel really good and feel relaxed.

[00:08:02] So a lot of times like everyone loves the beat.

[00:08:05] It's right. Like who doesn't want to go to the beach?

[00:08:08] Right.

[00:08:09] First we give you that kind of mental massage through your body and then we go to the beach.

[00:08:13] And I just have you imagine like feeling so good and if you're a warrior, if you're somebody who just constantly in your head,

[00:08:22] you're perfect candidate for hypnosis because you can follow along with your imagination.

[00:08:27] That's all I need you to do.

[00:08:29] Right.

[00:08:30] In your imagination, you're really going to feel like there is sand beneath your toes.

[00:08:35] You just imagine it. That's it.

[00:08:38] But you're so relaxed that it starts feeling more real and more real.

[00:08:41] And so I take you some of our really pretty and then usually that just deepens you into a good relaxed state where you're really ready and primed.

[00:08:51] And then I go into their piotic session where I have pre-written scripts that I altered depending on the conversation that I have with the person beforehand.

[00:09:03] Or depending on like what we're doing if we're trying to do, you know, more advanced things like age regression.

[00:09:11] Then coach them into talking to me and going back and doing things like that.

[00:09:16] But those are more advanced techniques that I don't really do with first timers.

[00:09:20] I want you to really know how it feels for you to be hypnotized before we go into things that can be harder to access subconsciously.

[00:09:34] Okay.

[00:09:35] Yes.

[00:09:37] And you mentioned like asking questions and things.

[00:09:41] So in that state of hypnosis, so the person can still hear and respond.

[00:09:49] Yes.

[00:09:50] They're completely there.

[00:09:51] Okay.

[00:09:52] I have had a few, you know, it's interesting when I do pass the life regression with people.

[00:09:59] I have had somebody who just went blank, wouldn't answer any of my questions, nothing else.

[00:10:04] And we had a conversation afterwards and I was like, well, why do you think that happened?

[00:10:08] And he's like, I think my spirit guys are blocking you know because he had been a reporter.

[00:10:13] And I was like, yeah, okay.

[00:10:16] You know, it's not necessarily like you didn't do it right or something failed if you get this block.

[00:10:26] If something comes up, that's blocking you.

[00:10:29] And some people afterwards they'll go into a really deep state where they say they don't really remember anything I said.

[00:10:37] And that's completely fine because you can even do hypnosis is where you sleep through them.

[00:10:44] Just put up the hypnosis and sleep through the night.

[00:10:47] Right.

[00:10:48] And it'll work.

[00:10:49] It starts really rewiring brain.

[00:10:51] It's crazy, but it really does.

[00:10:54] I think I listen to, well, it's usually the music, especially if he's, if he's home.

[00:11:01] But when he's on nights and then in the past, I've listened to some of the subliminals and hypnosis at night.

[00:11:08] And so I'll tell him I'm going to turn it on and ask him if it's okay.

[00:11:12] You know, so it doesn't disturb him and he talks about you're gonna talk, you're gonna play the sleep man.

[00:11:18] Yeah.

[00:11:20] You're feeling deeper, it's going deeper.

[00:11:25] I'm just like, am I, see, I sleep with the CPAP machines.

[00:11:29] I'm going to be like, well, you just shut up.

[00:11:32] I'm trying to.

[00:11:34] So I have to kind of tell you about.

[00:11:37] So I say the ones with words.

[00:11:42] I'm hoping he's nice.

[00:11:44] And I just, I like them the music.

[00:11:47] Even if I feel like it's great, I could deal with the music.

[00:11:51] I feel and they're supposed to be subliminals, but even if there's not whatever the goal is, it puts my mind in that state of being before going to sleep.

[00:12:03] So for me, that works too.

[00:12:06] Yeah.

[00:12:08] So for our listeners, if you were to do a.

[00:12:13] Like the Zoom session, like we're doing now, what are some of the steps that you would take them through?

[00:12:21] So first I would spend about a half hour talking to them before we even get into the hypnosis.

[00:12:28] I would, I have like a set of kind of hypnotic questions that I ask them so that they can get really clear about their goals.

[00:12:38] Because a lot of times you know people will come in and they'll just say, you know, I want to be confident.

[00:12:43] And then like, great, I want to give you confidence, but listen, I can't just wave my hypnosis there if you want.

[00:12:50] You know, I'm going to do a Zoom all of a sudden.

[00:12:54] You've accomplished all these goals and I have these huge confidence.

[00:12:57] No, what I can do.

[00:12:59] I can help you accomplish a goal that's going to give you the confidence.

[00:13:04] Right.

[00:13:05] So so then I'm like, so let's get, let's get more clear.

[00:13:09] Let's get more clear.

[00:13:10] You know, and then we get so clear that it's like, okay, well, I've been biting my nails for 40 years, right?

[00:13:16] Let's do that.

[00:13:18] And then I, so we get really clear about a goal and then I ask him, what do you want?

[00:13:23] You know, how are you going to feel if you don't get this goal?

[00:13:27] Just different questions like this that really help.

[00:13:29] It's like, like lubricating those wheels in the brain, right?

[00:13:33] Right.

[00:13:34] I'm really thinking now about why do I bite me and else?

[00:13:37] What is it that I really want to change about this?

[00:13:40] And how is this going to change my life?

[00:13:42] And then we will all explain hypnosis today.

[00:13:46] I'll answer their questions about all that.

[00:13:48] I do a susceptibility test, which is really fun.

[00:13:51] We can do a little bit of that if we have time at some point.

[00:13:54] So then I would do a little susceptibility test just to kind of get them ready and primed.

[00:14:00] And then I have them in a remote session.

[00:14:04] I recommend that you have either headphones or earplugs.

[00:14:07] If it's on your phone and you can hear me fine, if it's something that you're just listening to that way, that's fine.

[00:14:14] I just want you to hear my voice.

[00:14:16] Right.

[00:14:17] And that's the most important thing.

[00:14:18] Yeah.

[00:14:19] And then so I'll then just have you do some breathing with me close your eyes and then we go into the session and we'll do the body relaxation,

[00:14:30] where we go somewhere pretty and then the therapeutic part of the session.

[00:14:33] And then I have you come out and then I, we talk about it a little bit because a lot of times people see some really cool stuff.

[00:14:41] You know, I'm like, I'm like imagine the beach and I was like, how's that the beach?

[00:14:45] And the sky was a rainbow.

[00:14:47] And I'm like, wow, that's so cool.

[00:14:49] Like I didn't they're like, you did such a good job.

[00:14:51] I'm like, I don't do that.

[00:14:55] So when you're in session, do you, does it put you in that same like an assimilar relaxed state?

[00:15:03] The coolest thing about being hypnotherapist is I'm such a good person with my own imagination.

[00:15:10] I love to imagine.

[00:15:12] So as I'm reading my scripts, I'm there like on the beach with you, like hanging out with you in my mind.

[00:15:20] You know, so I can kind of like see what you're doing in kind of imagine along with you.

[00:15:26] And when I'm asking you like clear things out of your subconscious, my own subconscious is benefiting right just because it's like, oh yeah, I remember how to do this.

[00:15:38] So yeah, to me doing the job is like amazing because I get relaxed, you know, and I get benefits along with helping my clients.

[00:15:50] Okay. That sounds great.

[00:15:52] Do you ever find the opposite where you are almost in any type of situation where you're, you're helping someone to get rid of negative energy.

[00:16:07] Like you're almost opening yourself up.

[00:16:09] Do you ever find yourself kind of like burnt out because you're helping them clear?

[00:16:15] I do have to sometimes really ground if I'm having one of those like exhausting days when I'm like, all right, I'm on the beach again.

[00:16:25] Right.

[00:16:26] I do have to do my own like grounding.

[00:16:28] I have this whole, I'm a very spiritual person myself. So I have this whole like wrapping myself in my golden light cocoon before I have my client, my own rituals that I have to do that protect my energy.

[00:16:42] Okay.

[00:16:43] And I also know that when things are getting dark per se, you know, like when I'm having them maybe go into something that might be uncomfortable.

[00:16:53] I know on my next page on my script has them filled with light filling with love, like, you know, like I'm at the ending of the story.

[00:17:03] So I don't get cut up in the fear and the scary part, you know, my client might be crying.

[00:17:09] You know, on the other side, maybe they're crying through this situation, but I don't feel like it's going to affect me in that way.

[00:17:16] And I don't feel like it, I have to bring up my own past, you know, because it's like there's a there's a rainbow at the end, you know, right?

[00:17:25] Right, right.

[00:17:27] So in not to take away from any other therapeutic modality or anything, but what would be beneficial to seek out, hitting a therapy to help with current issues to help with past issues.

[00:17:42] What are some of the benefits instead of like a traditional therapeutic setting?

[00:17:48] That's a really good question. So I always say if you have medication, take your meds, if you're serious therapist and see me.

[00:17:57] I always want you to be in the conventional ways because I don't have a bachelor's degree like she does to teach you how to go back and really dissect all that trauma in your past.

[00:18:11] I'm not worried about that. That's for you therapist, I'm your hypnotherapist. I'm here to do the magic.

[00:18:17] I'm here to take you where you're at right now and propel you forward.

[00:18:22] That's my goal.

[00:18:24] And when I do a session and we have things in our past that are bothering us, let me believe.

[00:18:30] You know, I will literally have you imagine vacuuming it up just vacuum them up and then we don't have to open up the bag and look at all the trash inside.

[00:18:42] Just get on right right because you can come out of this and wake up and be like, look, I know that from this day forward, I'm never body man else again.

[00:18:54] And you just needed that push right.

[00:18:59] And when the cravings come up because of the things said during the therapeutic parts of the session, you know, I can't don't want to give all my tips and tricks right.

[00:19:09] And then I said during the therapeutic parts of the session will help you in the future when you do have these cravings because I'm not a magician.

[00:19:21] I can't stop the cravings this kind of segues until there's just like you have neural pathways that are created.

[00:19:28] So it's been smoking 49 years. Those neural pathways are right now, I can't create brain surgery if I could have the billionaire right.

[00:19:41] But what I can do is create a new pathway.

[00:19:45] I can create this experience, this beautiful experience of cleansing yourself with all the nicotine and all the junk.

[00:19:52] And you never want to go back to it again. And then and then you have that to hang on to when those.

[00:20:00] You know, and you have those memories to go back to instead of like, oh, I just I just remember going and smoking and then I felt better.

[00:20:06] No, but I also remember I did this hypnotherapy thing and I felt even better than I did when I smoked.

[00:20:13] And how long those lines do you give your clients things that they can do if that craving hits.

[00:20:21] Can they do like a little mini hit no session themselves.

[00:20:26] And when I do my, when I do the like deepener.

[00:20:31] I always put in these sentences of like you'll be able to access this easily and effortlessly at any time you need and anytime.

[00:20:41] So they'll have that, you know, just they'll just sit there and close their eyes.

[00:20:46] And I'm like, you already all kind of know how to do it and how it feels for you.

[00:20:51] So you can get there faster. And for some people who need that, I'll add those words in where I'll say, you know, every time you go and try to practice of noses, you'll enter faster and deeper easier every time.

[00:21:05] Just adding in different things like those will help people, you know, when they want to access it again later.

[00:21:12] Okay.

[00:21:14] That's right. So not crystal, we talked about hypnotherapy and the positives of it.

[00:21:21] We've talked about years sessions and how you do them for our listeners.

[00:21:27] What brought you to the point where hypnotherapy was the thing for you.

[00:21:33] Right. Who picks to be a hip disaster?

[00:21:42] So, okay. I fell in love with hypnism. I was a little girl and I used to DJ with my stepdad.

[00:21:49] He did like DJs like weddings and parties and all these things. And I'd go with them and everyone's still out there to be hypnotist.

[00:21:56] And always at the end of the stage hypnotists would add in something like, okay, no, who wants to quit smoking?

[00:22:02] Like who wants to paint that eye forever? And the whole thing is just so magical. And I was a kid, right? And I'm like, wow.

[00:22:08] This really works. That person's life is going to change. And then years and years later, I got state hypnotized twice.

[00:22:18] And the second time on the big stage of Vegas. And I bought the hypnosis DVD or whatever. I got it for free. I can't remember.

[00:22:27] So I decided to start using that because I had really bad insomnia. My life was in a really dark place at the time.

[00:22:36] And so I wasn't sleeping and I started using it for that. And then I started listening to the depression.

[00:22:41] And I started helping and I was like, I'm finally sleeping again. Like holy cow.

[00:22:47] And then years went by and I kind of forgot it was a whole thing. And then I went through 2019 hit.

[00:22:55] And I lost my brother, I lost my marriage, everything. Just darkest night of the soul, just horrible time.

[00:23:03] And I entered two years of pretty intense. Like I was going weekly to therapy doing like EMDR and all this other stuff.

[00:23:11] And then I remembered. I was like, I remember doing those hypnosis things and I was desperate to stop hating my ex husband or just having him plague me because all I think it was just this constant plaguing, plaguing, plaguing, like all I could think about was him and all my voice and all these terrible things.

[00:23:34] And I just wanted to stop. And I was like, I remember the last time I felt like I was this bombarded by not being able to sleep and feeling like this terrible and how much the hypnosis helped me.

[00:23:48] So I went and researched and found a hypnotherapist myself and started using her and she transformed my life.

[00:23:59] It was crazy. I had done two years and I have done intensive outpatient therapy. I actually had to go like inpatient therapy, like my life was a mess.

[00:24:12] And I went two years of just trying to get my mental health together. And then finally I found this modality and I was like, I love this.

[00:24:23] I've always been obsessed with hypnosis. I love the way this feels. I was thinking about going into helping in the mental health field anyway because of how far I had come.

[00:24:36] I was like, if 10 years of therapy at this point, I think I ended up, this is something like 500 hours of therapy crazy.

[00:24:44] I don't remember. But like I've done so much. How can I let this go out of waste? Like, you know, like I got to keep going and keep learning more and more.

[00:24:55] And so I kind of just the two just kind of meld it together after I met my hypnotherapist which is like, you could do this.

[00:25:03] Like I can tell you where to go to school. I can mentor you like, you got this. So I found a school here in Arizona that teaches hypnotherapy and other healing modalities and here I am today.

[00:25:18] Wow. Awesome. Awesome.

[00:25:20] So and you definitely the when you're in a situation and you find something that helps you, that makes you want to help others like you like.

[00:25:31] It's like when you're eating something and it's really good and you're like here, you got to taste this because it feels good to you when you want to share that.

[00:25:40] Why do you have videos on Instagram and TikTok? I can tell that you love it. It's not something that you're just doing for making money.

[00:25:50] It's like, yeah, you love it. And when you love something, you'll share it.

[00:25:56] Yeah. We definitely appreciate that about you.

[00:26:01] Thank you. You know, because I go get my own hypnosis stuff done. You know, I love it. Why wouldn't I use it?

[00:26:07] So I went on hypnotist and he said, you know, you have this moral obligation to share this gift.

[00:26:15] And I was like, right. He's like, how dare you keep it quiet? And I'm like, yeah, you're right. You're right. Why do I think these things? Why do I live in the leaves?

[00:26:24] It's like, this is an amazing tool for people. You know, and there's all different kinds of healing modalities. And I'll never tell people to stop doing what they're doing if it's working.

[00:26:36] This is just one more amazing tool that's out there that feels great.

[00:26:42] Like who doesn't want to feel like they're getting a massage while they're healing.

[00:26:48] Wow. So you mentioned in 2019, you lost relatives and you lost your marriage. And I've seen your website with listeners. How many children do you have?

[00:27:00] I got three kids.

[00:27:02] Three kids. Wow. They're beautiful. They're beautiful.

[00:27:06] Thank you. Thank you.

[00:27:08] Well, you got a fourth one because you got bear. Yes, bear.

[00:27:12] Here's the bear is a dog.

[00:27:16] We're going to try to have to get a photo of a shot of bear towards the end.

[00:27:22] Yeah.

[00:27:24] So with your children, have you introduced your children to hit an a therapy?

[00:27:28] My kids are so sick of it.

[00:27:32] I'm not about to meditate from such a young age.

[00:27:36] I don't have so many things that they don't want to hear it from me anymore.

[00:27:40] But you know, they use it when they, you know, they'll ask for it when they need it.

[00:27:46] They'll ask for a meditation or things like that.

[00:27:50] But if I'm like, hey, you know what'll help?

[00:27:52] Like I don't hear it anymore.

[00:27:56] I had a student who I can't even remember what it was but she said something one day.

[00:28:04] That this was a ninth grade student.

[00:28:06] And I thought that is the most insightful thing.

[00:28:08] I've heard in a long time and to come from a ninth grade.

[00:28:12] And I asked her, I said, where did you learn that?

[00:28:16] She said her mom was a life code.

[00:28:18] And I thought wow, that's amazing.

[00:28:20] Like to grow up with someone who's raising you with tools like that

[00:28:26] to the point where you're 14 and you can impart wisdom.

[00:28:30] Yeah.

[00:28:32] So they probably call on those things more than they'll let you know.

[00:28:40] Yeah, probably.

[00:28:42] I hate to be the devil's advocate.

[00:28:44] All right.

[00:28:46] Because this is a marriage podcast, is there anything you like to share about the difficulties in your marriage?

[00:28:54] And looking back on them now with what you know, is there anything that you would like to tell Crystal Backpin?

[00:29:00] When she was going through those things in our marriage?

[00:29:04] I think I would like to just tell her that it's like gonna get better.

[00:29:10] And that like things are gonna be all right and they're gonna work out.

[00:29:14] Yeah.

[00:29:16] And you know, I don't want to go around bashing my acts or saying terrible things.

[00:29:22] You know, we had our problems and we both did a lot of terrible things.

[00:29:26] But luckily I've been able to now be in a healthy relationship since then.

[00:29:34] And I just wish I could tell her to like, it's okay, like hang on.

[00:29:40] Because there's this super healthy relationship that's coming.

[00:29:44] Open communication where you can be yourself or you can back in that life.

[00:29:50] I wouldn't have been able to follow my dreams the way I am now.

[00:29:56] For someone who's gone through some things, just got a marriage desk feeling or anything like that.

[00:30:04] What are some tools you can give them?

[00:30:06] Yes.

[00:30:08] Okay. So, main tool that I would definitely want to teach somebody who is in their darkest of dark hours

[00:30:15] is to take your days day by day.

[00:30:19] And even if that feels like too much, take a 15 minutes out of time.

[00:30:24] Anybody can be 15 minutes through anything.

[00:30:28] You know, because sometimes I get people, people don't just come see the hypnotists for no reason.

[00:30:35] I know I'm not your first phone call, right?

[00:30:37] Like, and I'm kind of glad for it.

[00:30:40] I'm glad that I'm getting you when your desperate for change.

[00:30:45] You know, because it's, that's when you're ready to hear it and actually change.

[00:30:51] So, that's something that I would also tell somebody who's going through it in those dark times.

[00:30:56] It's like, this is your time to change.

[00:30:59] You're in the pit and you can get out and things that are going to look so much better.

[00:31:05] And you can't go different.

[00:31:08] You can't even imagine what is on the other side of that pit.

[00:31:13] And it's not even with people who lose a marriage, you know, there's people who are married and lose a child.

[00:31:21] No.

[00:31:22] And that can be so hard on a marriage.

[00:31:25] Yes.

[00:31:26] So hard on a marriage.

[00:31:27] And that's why each of those people need to do their work to go through their grieving process.

[00:31:33] And I'm going to say, you know, with people who are going through grief.

[00:31:38] I can't say you're going to see this beautiful rainbow at the end, right?

[00:31:42] Because I can't bring back the one that I can tell you that is going through the first.

[00:31:47] The people who are going through grief.

[00:31:49] What I tell them though, is that to get through it is to reach out to people who are around you.

[00:31:57] Get help.

[00:31:58] That's my biggest for people who are going through.

[00:32:01] It is okay.

[00:32:03] It's okay if what you want to talk to is a hypnotist or a bitch.

[00:32:07] It's okay for what you want to talk to as the last coach.

[00:32:10] It's okay for what you want to talk to as your dog.

[00:32:12] Talk to somebody.

[00:32:14] Talk to them.

[00:32:15] Find the help.

[00:32:17] Because people out there are going to be able to give you that hope, you know,

[00:32:23] give you the validation and the love and the community because a lot of times when we're grieving.

[00:32:30] And I know this just from my own is it's just you have that whole that loneliness.

[00:32:36] Right.

[00:32:37] And it's okay to open up that loneliness and let other people in and fill it up.

[00:32:44] Yes.

[00:32:45] I know someone who has lost both of my parents at different times.

[00:32:51] My father passed away in 96 and my mother passed away in 2019.

[00:32:57] I often tell people, you know, you never really get over anybody you just learned to live without them.

[00:33:06] And that's the beginning and that's the struggle because it's like, okay, I'm used to calling my mom at least once a week.

[00:33:13] And now I don't have that number to call.

[00:33:16] Well, I can call the number.

[00:33:17] She's not going to answer her.

[00:33:19] Her mom passed away in 2015 and just recently the other day I saw where I got a frim of quiz from her.

[00:33:27] And it's like, you know, sometimes people who do the anniversary, the birthdays, you know, happy birthday and stuff like that.

[00:33:34] And so I just tell people, you know, you just learn to live without them.

[00:33:38] That's the best advice that I could give.

[00:33:40] You just learn to live a new life.

[00:33:43] You know, I love metaphors and I just think of it.

[00:33:47] It's like, you know, it's just this is the dimension or the life.

[00:33:52] Like you live this life in this weird dimension and all of a sudden you don't have your brother in this dimension

[00:33:57] and now you have to live this new life.

[00:33:59] You know, it's like what happened?

[00:34:02] Right.

[00:34:03] And it's the best.

[00:34:06] It's the best.

[00:34:07] It is.

[00:34:08] And look at it as that was an amazing book of your life before you have this amazing character who played a huge part in your life.

[00:34:20] And you get to keep that book.

[00:34:22] This is just something, you know, I kind of help people with visual dedications.

[00:34:26] You get to keep that book with you and close to your heart at all times.

[00:34:30] You know, you have this very special.

[00:34:32] And now it's time for a new book.

[00:34:35] Right.

[00:34:36] And that's okay, you know, and you can their characters going to play a part in this new book too because their influence is always going to be with you.

[00:34:47] You know, like I lost my brother 2019.

[00:34:52] And he did his my life to this day.

[00:34:55] You know, I have my ways of always keeping him with me.

[00:34:58] I a song come on the radio and I'm like, there you are all I hear you.

[00:35:04] So there's all you're always going to have them but there's always so much beauty too.

[00:35:12] It's always that whole but we can always put light in it.

[00:35:17] One of the things that you mentioned was the idea of surviving to thriving.

[00:35:25] And so oftentimes in that in that grief or when things seem to keep happening, we get into that mode and even really in everyday life,

[00:35:36] we get into that that mode of surviving.

[00:35:41] Honestly, sometimes you're in that mode and you don't realize that there's anything else.

[00:35:49] So if you could speak a little bit about how hypnotherapy can be a means to get from that surviving state to and thriving state of being.

[00:36:02] Yes. Okay. Yeah.

[00:36:04] So for me, I used it when I was in my survival state of mind.

[00:36:09] You know? And hypnotherapy is such a powerful tool because it can help you shift your mindset.

[00:36:17] And you just start going towards life with these new goals.

[00:36:25] And then you start really accomplishing things and things really start changing for you.

[00:36:30] You know, I hate manifestation stuff.

[00:36:33] But I love it at the same time.

[00:36:36] Because it really is real.

[00:36:39] If you really can imagine yourself like sometimes I'll do a timeline therapy with somebody who's really getting stuck.

[00:36:46] You know, they can't see anything past two years from now because all they see is dark.

[00:36:51] So I take them on a timeline and let's imagine what that's really going to look like.

[00:36:57] And you can build this beautiful whatever you want future for yourself.

[00:37:03] And a lot of times when we're in survival, we're not doing these mental exercises.

[00:37:09] We're not thinking about what beauty can look like in five years.

[00:37:14] Right.

[00:37:15] You know, and so having the hypnotherapy and having these different practices can really help you because when you get stuck in your day to day.

[00:37:26] And you are taking it 15 minutes, 15 minutes, 15 minutes.

[00:37:29] Okay. Now I know crystal is, you know, when I do my coaching, I give people their homework.

[00:37:34] And so I have to do my 10 gratitude.

[00:37:39] Right, my 10 gratitude.

[00:37:42] And in every gratitude is what I have people imagine is like I'm grateful for my big beautiful home.

[00:37:48] And I wrote this when I lived in an 800 square foot to bedroom.

[00:37:55] Like bars on the windows.

[00:37:57] My daughter's dad was above my bed like no privacy.

[00:38:01] I'm grateful for my big beautiful home.

[00:38:04] Suddenly a family member has this home that you buy rents it out to me for a steal.

[00:38:10] Everything gets better in my financial situation keeps growing.

[00:38:13] And still to this day, I'm great for my big beautiful home.

[00:38:16] And when I would write it, I would imagine what do I want?

[00:38:19] Right.

[00:38:20] How grateful I am for what I do have.

[00:38:23] Right.

[00:38:24] And actually feeling into that too.

[00:38:25] Like you say yes, this is what I want and this I'm grateful for this because I know it's in my future.

[00:38:30] Also like thank you to my divine to the universe everything's for just having this beautiful home because it is a home that is big to my me.

[00:38:41] Right.

[00:38:42] It makes me feel rich, you know?

[00:38:45] And just teaching people to really change from that mindset and having these practices can help them even as their bank account is low.

[00:38:55] And they're going to feel like they're thriving because because their family time is tight.

[00:39:01] And if we've done a coaching session, you know I teach people all about the balance in their life.

[00:39:07] That's another thing that I do when I coach.

[00:39:10] But all about balance and we find, you know, maybe you have a deficit in romantic area in your life.

[00:39:16] That's okay right now.

[00:39:18] And just coming to exceptions with this and putting more focus in other areas of your life and teaching you kind of how to shift your life from constantly just got to go to work, you know, got to do this.

[00:39:32] I can't change your job.

[00:39:35] I can't wave my wand and make your boss about her boss.

[00:39:39] But I can try to be more assertive.

[00:39:42] Like I can literally have had a client.

[00:39:47] She was so sweet and she thought that everything was her fault at her job and then she got more assertive and then she came to me for confidence.

[00:39:55] And then we got her a new job and it's just like watching where she went from being, you know somebody who just thought that she was a doormat.

[00:40:03] Right.

[00:40:04] And now has, you know, the confidence to say no, but he's in a tree me this way.

[00:40:09] I'm going to get a better job right now.

[00:40:13] That's where the hypnosis because you realize like I am powerful.

[00:40:18] Like I can accomplish these things right and it's through the small changes to sometimes, you know just for me it was as simple as realizing I could get over my act.

[00:40:28] That gave me so much confidence.

[00:40:32] And now and the more hypnosis I do and the more things I learn and build upon and get stronger.

[00:40:39] The more it feels like I'm driving and driving and driving in my life.

[00:40:43] Right.

[00:40:44] That's I have to tell myself to get out of my own way a lot of the time because I will put myself.

[00:40:52] I hold myself back so I have to tell myself, get out of your way.

[00:40:58] I'm moving forward.

[00:41:01] Yeah.

[00:41:02] Alright so we are going to wrap up our first segment and get into our less discuss it.

[00:41:08] And for our less discuss it, we're going to have a little bit of fun and see how susceptible the two of us are to hypnosis.

[00:41:16] Alright.

[00:41:17] Let's do it.

[00:41:23] Baby, we need to talk.

[00:41:25] Huh?

[00:41:28] Now let's discuss it.

[00:41:40] How long have you been doing hypnotherapy?

[00:41:43] About two years of two years.

[00:41:45] How long take you to do the training for it?

[00:41:50] It was a little under two years of training, but I did two years of training and then I had been working for about a year on my hand.

[00:41:58] So that's why I think that hypnosis and hyp like hypnotherapy is so beneficial to people like you because they're science behind it.

[00:42:08] Right.

[00:42:09] You know, like there's research behind it.

[00:42:12] Like the okay, so what I'm teaching you is how to turn off your amygdala, your fight or flight and turn on your prefrontal cortex.

[00:42:21] You're thinking, you're actually thinking while your end hypnosis because you're thinking about everything I'm saying you're imagining, you know, you're using your mind.

[00:42:31] You're choosing to use it and allowing me to guide you.

[00:42:36] You know, and it can be so simple.

[00:42:40] You don't always have to have a hypnosis session where you're like, you know, and now imagine that you have all these wonderful things.

[00:42:47] It can just be like, you're going to tell your subconscious mind when it brings up anxious thoughts to stop it.

[00:42:54] Right.

[00:42:55] Stop it.

[00:42:56] And you're going to listen.

[00:42:57] And so people who have like an analytical mind like yours, something like that kind of more of a blunt hypnosis, you know, take on it would be beneficial.

[00:43:07] And having a good hypnotherapist, this is where I say like, yes, you can benefit from going on on YouTube and watching and listening to them.

[00:43:16] But having a good hypnotherapist who understands you and kind of was like, okay, this person's more of a right being thinker left brain thinker will help because they'll know how to tailor it towards you.

[00:43:28] I can even get people who think that they can't meditate.

[00:43:33] Going to hypnosis.

[00:43:35] And I struggle with meditation because for me, I was diagnosed as an adult with ADHD and I was on medicine for years.

[00:43:44] I have been without medicine.

[00:43:46] And whereas the hyperactivity part was not always an issue, it was more of lack of focus and my brain was going now like physically sometimes.

[00:43:57] I run from room to room like a toddler.

[00:44:01] So the idea of sitting to breathe and to clear your mind, that's a struggle for me sometimes.

[00:44:09] You know, and kind of something I tell my people that the cool thing about hypnapsises when I'm hypnotizing you, I don't care what your body is doing.

[00:44:19] I don't even care if you open your eyes or close your eyes.

[00:44:22] It's up to me, I can get in and out of bed with my eyes closed.

[00:44:26] But I tell people it's like when you're falling asleep and you fidget a bunch, rub your nose, rub your rock, that's totally okay.

[00:44:34] You're still falling asleep right?

[00:44:37] Right.

[00:44:38] You're not waking up.

[00:44:41] You're like, yeah, move.

[00:44:43] If you want to wiggle your feet the whole time because you're an anxious person and you're in, you know, a strange situation and fine.

[00:44:51] That's fine.

[00:44:52] I just want you to use your imagination and just follow along.

[00:44:56] Right.

[00:44:57] Because I'm going to do different exercises like for instance somebody who has a hard time quieting their own mind.

[00:45:04] I'm going to have them imagine telling someone else how to be hypnotized.

[00:45:10] So I'm like, you're the hypnotist now.

[00:45:13] I'm going to teach you how to teach them because I know that when you tell somebody to relax, you relax.

[00:45:20] You relax.

[00:45:21] Okay.

[00:45:22] Right.

[00:45:23] And I'm like and you can start off with your eyes closed, you can open them whatever you want as long as you're following along.

[00:45:31] And I'm going to do it because eventually, I understand that so many people have PTSD and this was a lot of, you know why I also tell people like go to a hypnotherapist who has an education.

[00:45:42] Because anyone can call themselves a hypnotherapist.

[00:45:45] Anyone can call themselves a life coach.

[00:45:47] Go to someone who has at least taking trauma informed classes.

[00:45:52] And anyone could walk into my house, you know when I do it from home or I can be one on one with somebody who's in the and the privacy of there on who has PTSD.

[00:46:02] And I don't want to trigger somebody who has PTSD, especially in a remote situation where I don't have control or here or where I'm like, right now I want to figure something like that.

[00:46:12] So I know that I am going to have this person just do whatever it is that makes them both relax when they walk into my space, when I start connecting with them.

[00:46:25] I'm like, this is where we're at right now, your safe, your here, you know, you're in control the whole time.

[00:46:34] I don't want control your mind, pardon us to control my own.

[00:46:38] I'm not going to be able to do that.

[00:46:41] I'm not going to be able to do that.

[00:46:44] So will you be able to do both of us at this time?

[00:46:47] Yeah, let's do it at the same time.

[00:46:49] Yeah.

[00:46:50] Okay.

[00:46:51] So I'll just be back a little bit so okay, what I'm going to have you do is just kind of follow along.

[00:46:57] So first, I'm going to just have you kind of raise your hands and give you a little finger is just a wiggle.

[00:47:02] Thank you.

[00:47:03] That is just for my entertainment.

[00:47:05] So I'm going to have you actually class your fingers together.

[00:47:11] And I'll just have you follow along and then I'll explain to you at the end why we do this.

[00:47:16] So what I want you to do is just use your imagination, whatever I tell you, you just be willing to follow along because it's fun.

[00:47:24] And you want to and you want to see what happens.

[00:47:26] That's all I ask.

[00:47:27] Okay.

[00:47:28] So we're just going to kind of like massage our fingers together while I show you what you're going to do next.

[00:47:33] So I'm going to have you, you stay that way and just watch me.

[00:47:36] I'm going to have you pick up your two index fingers and then as I you do, I'm going to have you look through them right through the middle.

[00:47:43] And I want you to imagine there's magnets at the end of your fingers.

[00:47:46] And that's all we're going to do.

[00:47:48] So I'm going to sit on the counter three and I go one two three and pop your fingers up and then you're going to look through the middle.

[00:47:54] And I'm just going to imagine what did I write tell you and play along.

[00:47:57] Okay.

[00:47:58] And then we're going to see what happens.

[00:48:00] All right, on the counter three, one two three, pop those fingers up and we're going to focus right there in the middle and in the middle.

[00:48:07] I want you to imagine that there are two magnets on the ends of each of their fingers and they're pulling your fingers towards each other tighter and tighter.

[00:48:16] And then I'm pulling and pulling and pulling and even if you wanted to keep your fingers apart, you couldn't even keep them apart.

[00:48:22] Even if you wanted to they just keep pulling and you're just imagining those magnets pulling when your fingers touch, you can drop your hands and give them a shake.

[00:48:29] That was that was something.

[00:48:38] Yeah, yeah.

[00:48:40] Simple.

[00:48:41] Okay, so I show you that to tell you this what I did was a magic trick and hypnosis.

[00:48:48] Okay.

[00:48:49] Because I climbed your body, I got your fingers ready automatically when you do this action, your fingers want to pull together.

[00:48:57] But then I added in that your mind is also pulling them together and that even if you wanted to pull them apart, you couldn't.

[00:49:05] And you probably just let them do what they were going to do, but think about it.

[00:49:10] If you really wanted to could you have dropped your hands at any point?

[00:49:16] Yeah.

[00:49:18] Yeah.

[00:49:21] Yeah.

[00:49:23] Right.

[00:49:24] Right.

[00:49:25] I was, I was focusing on like, okay, I don't want to protect so they were coming together and I was like, I don't want to protect so that's what I was focused on.

[00:49:35] Never did I think.

[00:49:36] Right.

[00:49:37] Yeah.

[00:49:38] But because we were instructed.

[00:49:41] Yeah.

[00:49:42] So that was what need.

[00:49:45] So you're susceptible as long as you're willing to play along.

[00:49:49] Use your imagination.

[00:49:51] I know how to literally prime your body.

[00:49:54] I literally prime your body by having you imagine the relaxation.

[00:49:57] It changes your heart rate, it changes your breathing.

[00:50:00] Your physiology changes when you go on to hypnosis.

[00:50:04] I have you imagine getting relaxed and then we go somewhere pretty and then we do the therapy.

[00:50:10] And so it just gets in there and you're just willing to play along at no point are you out of control?

[00:50:18] You can stand up, sit up, cough, wiggle.

[00:50:22] You know, I've had people, you know, start laughing and then go right back.

[00:50:28] Yeah.

[00:50:29] And fine.

[00:50:30] And then I just saw something that made them giggle.

[00:50:33] And I was going to ask, but I mean it kind of answered itself if you found that it was just as effective in an online setting versus in person.

[00:50:46] But you just showed it.

[00:50:50] It was pretty effective.

[00:50:52] Wow.

[00:50:53] That was neat.

[00:50:54] That was neat.

[00:50:56] I was going to have to try it myself.

[00:50:59] Yeah, try it.

[00:51:01] Tell people you can really watch it so they just show your friends and family and you can show them that you know how to hypnotize them.

[00:51:08] I'm trying to figure out how to use it to get my students to finish their words.

[00:51:16] Watch my fingers watch your fingers.

[00:51:20] Now pick up your pencil.

[00:51:24] Yeah.

[00:51:25] Fantastic.

[00:51:26] All right, so far I listen to if they wanted to find you in book a session or meet you for the first time or find your social media.
